1. Review and choose a direction
Discuss your goals, review available property information and compare ADU types. Flag unanswered questions early. Agree on what further research or site inspection is needed.
2. Design, coordinate and submit
Develop the layout, coordinate engineering and utilities, define finish expectations and prepare the permit package. Review the budget again when the scope becomes more detailed.
3. Build, inspect and hand over
Confirm permits, contract scope and scheduling before mobilizing. Track inspections and changes as work proceeds. At completion, review final approvals, operating instructions, warranty information and the remaining punch list together.
