One plan for the roof and the new panels
Start by sharing your roof’s age, material, known leaks, and a recent electricity bill. We review the roof work alongside the proposed panel layout, mounting and flashing approach, electrical requirements, and any battery goals. Your roof covering and the solar system should be planned together before installation begins.
First, the new roof
The roofing proposal identifies tear-off, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, covering, and the agreed decking scope. If concealed damage is found, review the additional work and price. Solar attachment locations and roofing responsibilities belong in the planning discussion.
Then, your new solar system
Once the roof is ready, the new solar installation follows the agreed design and approval process. Equipment installation, electrical connections, monitoring, inspections, and utility coordination are defined in the scope. The system’s operating date depends on required approvals.

Los Angeles County Building & Safety provides a starting point for planning. Confirm the agency responsible for the actual parcel; county resources do not automatically apply to every incorporated-city property.
